Welcome to the very late but exciting August08 Fun page.   We began the month with our 1st Annual China Girl Civic long weekend reunion...  Maybe it is not the official name, but it was a fun time.  We had a gather at David and Cathy Graham's home in Wiarton.  Many families that we met during the adoption journey for Nyah along with other families that have also met during adoption met for a camp out, a visit to a local fair along with a trip to the beach...  It was great to meet the families and catch-up on life after adding the wonderful children to our lives.  I hope we can do it again next year.

All the kids had a great time from playing together, coloring or just attaching Marc with pillows, everyone had a wonderful time.  I know it is a weekend that Nyah will not forget.  It was great to see her bond with Georgia, Islay and Vanessa.

 

We are home...  After summer has passed by we are finally home for a couple of weeks.  First we went to Miche and Pere's for the first half of our visit.  Everyone was waiting for us at Miche and Pere as we got home and everyone was very excited to see us (actually more like to see Nyah)...  The next day after we got to rest from our long trip, Nyah got to hang out with everyone and play...  She was in her glory as she got to do crafts with Victoria and Miche... Mind you I think that Victoria had a great time doing the detailed craft of stained glass.  Nyah also took a ride on Pere's bike...  The big excitement came that evening as everyone surprised Nyah with a graduation party.  It was a fun surprise and Nyah was really happy.  Our trip to Miche and Pere's consistent of various fun like dying Teresa's hair, fishing with Marc and Pere, playing with Satin, a little visit with Mataunt and Johnny (were they had lots of food which was good, because Nyah seemed really hungry) and sleeping with Miche and watching Alvin and the Chipmunk each night "Dave likes to wear dirty underway", that is one of Nyah's favorite lines from the movie.  This was a great trip with many memories.

 

Before we made our trip to New Brunswick for our summer vacation, Marc and Scott had a special visit from their good friend, Glenn from NB.  Glenn is a great friend that the grow up with in Moncton from grade school on...  After a nice dinner, the guys got to hang out and have some guy bonding time.

Off to Moncton we go and we finally after 9 months we get to meet the newest member of our family - Romi Jill Lemieux...  Romi is a little tyke with a cute smile and big blue sparkly eyes...  With two big brothers who think she is golden...

After getting to me Romi, the rest of our visit with the rest of the gang began...  And how much fun we had.  The kids had a great time playing together and getting to be cousins together.  It was fun to see them be friends too.  It was also a really treat for Memere and Pepere (and Mommies and Daddies too) to see all the little ones playing, laughing and running (or crawling) around the house.

After much discuss, the next day we all headed to Larry and Gloria's for dinner.  The kids got to have another day of play together.  Marc also got some fun pictures of Nyah and the boys playing on the tractor.   

On this vacation we had a mix of rain and sunshine but even with the down pours we had a lot of fun.  We got to spend a fun day at the camp with all the kids and the beach.  We also got a chance to have a little visit with Marc's grandparents...  Each year as Nyah grows and changes, it is nice for them to see how wonderful a child she is.

Marc, Memere, Pepere, Nyah and I decided to take a day trip to the Bay of Fundy to have some lobster at the Alma Lobster Shop.  It was a really great experience where we could pick a lobster of our choice and we got to eat it right there on the beach.  We also got to walk on the beach and play in the rocks.  Speaking of rocks we also headed to Cape Enrage for a visit of the lighthouse.  It was a pretty day and lots of beautiful views.  By the time we were done this day trip, Nyah had collected a huge bowl of rocks, so many that she could not even carry it.  It was funny actually at one point, I was nearly losing my pants because I had so many rocks in my pockets. 

 

 

 

After a fun filled happy two weeks, we are back home in Ontario...  Back to work, gymnastics and getting ready for school.  This year Nyah will be an SK in her class and she is very excited about it.  As we prepare for the school we decided to spend the weekend at home not camping...  We also made a trip to Toronto to enjoy a warm sunny day at the CNE.  We headed to Toronto with the MacKenzie clan.  The air show was fantastic but a little loud and the girls had a fun time on the rides also.  The final thing we got to enjoy was a show of the RCMP Muscial Ride.  It was really quite an event.  The horses were really so beautiful and graceful.  Nyah really enjoyed the show and get to pet the horses at the end.

I hope you all enjoyed our very delayed entry for August and you will come back soon to see what has been up for September and October...  There is lots to hear about like back to school, gymnastic fun, a pretty wedding, Gotcha Day weekend, Miche and Pere's visit, apple picking, Thanksgiving and a very special 5th birthday for NYAH....
