Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Christmas in the Lemieux family was a wonderful event this year.  It was also a quiet one because it was only the 3 of us this year in Ontario.  But it was surely a wonderful one.  We started the weekend by making cookies.  As you can see Nyah is a great little helper.  We made lots of cookies and Nyah has a tasty time with some flour.  Nyah's job (other than eating the flour) was to press the cookie dough with the decorative cookie press and she did a great job at it.  We are lots of fun and laughs...

Christmas Eve was a quiet one too.  We spent the whole day home as we had all our shopping done.  Nyah and Daddy spent a good part of the morning wrapping Mommy's presents.  They did this in our bedroom, I was downstairs in the family room (directly under them) reading a book and from the sounds of the traffic in the room, they had a great time.  Daddy was not only busy with the wrapping but also keeping an eye on his scissors because apparently his helper kept swiping them.  But all in all they had a fun time.  Nyah was very excited to bring all the boxes down.  She came running out of the room and down the stairs singing Happy to you Mommy, Happy to you Mommy...  It was the sweetest and most wonderful sight.

We actually had a late lunch after Nyah's one hour nap (getting her to bed lately has been a big chore and she is not sleeping for long... I guess it is all the excitement and maybe chocolate...) then we got changed and went to the early 5:00 service of Christmas Mass.  Nyah loved the church and all the people expect for the little girl sitting in front of us who was trying to take her Uncle Dick (a new puppy courtesy of Mich and Pere that she has named after her uncle)...  Nyah was also very excited to see Baby Jesus...  It was a beautiful services with all the people and the children's choir.  It brought back lots of memories...

Then we came home had a nice dinner and changed into our PJs for a fun night.  Nyah still fit into a handmade night dress she got last year from Mataunt so it was only fitting that she wear that pretty gown.  We had some play and then watched her Barney Christmas.  We then got Nyah ready for bed by starting with getting Santa's plate ready...  She was very excited about this...

The next morning was all got up and headed down stairs...  Nyah wasn't as interested in the dolly and toys that Santa left under the tree.  She was much more interested in the fact that Santa and the deer ate all the cookies and carrots.  That was a sure sign that he was here (the toys were not a give away...  That will be next year).  We then started the task of opening all the gifts and believe me we had lots to open courtesy of all the family out east... Nyah did a great job she got a little tired of it all at the end, but I think that was because she not only opened hers but all of ours too...

After all the fun of gifts, we then spent most of the day playing with Nyah and her toys.  She had a great time with Mommy and Daddy for hours on end.  I think her favourite gift was a baby Cabbage Patch doll from Mish and Pere...  Thanks Mich and Pere, you actually upstaged Santa too.  We also celebrated with a tasty turkey dinner with stuffing and all.  After all the clean-up we changed into our PJs and played with Nyah's new crayon collections.  We had lots of fun with the huge piece of paper but mostly with Daddy's feet.  With her new markers, his feet even smelled like Marshmallows and Pine Forest.  After a very long day of play, chocolates and fun with no nap time, we figured Nyah would go down really well and sleep for hours and Mommy and Daddy would have some time together....  But surprise, an hour into her sleep(nap) she was up and wanting to play.  We took her down and tried to get her back to sleep but she wasn't having anything to do with it...  PLAY PLAY PLAY is all she wanted.  And of course we just gave in...  It is Christmas after all.  I think that Nyah is having such a fun time that she doesn't want to miss anything that she won't nap these days...  She is up late each night too.  Oh well...

On Boxing day we dressed Nyah up in a new outfit with an Eskimo Kisses shirt and got ready for company.  We had Stephanie, Scott, Meagan and Samantha and Melissa, Sam, Lukas and Ben over for dinner and some fun.  It was really nice to spend the day and night with friends.  After Melissa and Sam and the boys left, we ended up just chatting with Stephanie and Scott while the girls played and before we knew it it was 11:00 pm and the girls were still going.  So after they left we went straight to bed with tired little one that still wanted to play...  Honk Honk Daddy...

Keep reading, December will be over and entered soon...
