HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Welcome to 2006!
January 2006 is the beginning of a new year with new adventures and changes to experience. The month has gone by very fast because we were very busy at both work and home. We did some fun things in between though. We started out the new year with having a little pop corn and as you can see Nyah is still up to her old tricks by wearing bowl first... Oh well, its all part of the fun of a two year old.
We also got to have a little silly time for Daddy by making faces and sticking our tongue out at him, enjoy Daddy! We also got to have a really fun time sliding and playing at the park in the snow. We all had such a great time, even Daddy tried to ride that hills. Sorry, its not a snowboard....
The big highlight of January, I feel has been potty training. Nyah has done a wonderful job with the new challenge. She is seating on the potty for both pee and pooh now along with sleeping at night without a diaper. It has been about three weeks now and we are very proud of her. Our sitter has also been a wonderful help with this too, because she was right on board with suggestions and tips. She also would treat Nyah to a sticker and a toy for each time she would pee or pooh, it worked like a charm... THANKS MARSHA!!! As you can see from our few pictures Nyah enjoys the new feel of no diapers, she also take advantage of running naked when she can...
January 29th was the start of the Chinese New year celebration. We had a great time celebrating the day by getting together with several families that we had the privilege of sharing the adoption experience with. The little girls are Georgia, Fawn, Allasandra, Ava, Laura, Jade and Brit along with the many older siblings. The party was a fun time to get to see all the changes in the girls over the past year. Nyah and Fawn enjoyed a moment of fun with the drum set. They were so cute together.
We finished off the month by having Chinese New Year's week at Marsha's. They had a fun time celebrating the year of the dog, by making lanterns, fans and a puppy dog head band. The kids also enjoyed theirs of traditions envelops with Chinese money, colored coconut, fortune cookies and rice crackers. In honor of the week, we also dressed Nyah on all the pretty traditional outfits we have for Nyah from China.
