Welcome to our October 2005 page!  October was a fun, beautiful and happy month.  The only sad thing about it, was how fast it went by.

The weather was warm at the beginning then getting a bit colder throughout but to our delight the month ended with a nice warm fair night. 

We started the first weekend of October with a trip to the Waterloo Park.  They have a really nice collection of animals, from goats to a lama to rabbits.  They also have a nice play area and a pond with a flocks of ducks.  Nyah really enjoyed feeding the animals lots of carrots and a loaf of bread.  We all had a lot of fun.  The next day Scott, Darlene, Corey and Alyssa came to visit.  Nyah was having a nap when they arrived, so Mommy and Daddy got to hang out with them for a little bit.  We also got to take some pretty pictures of Alyssa walking (the last time we had visited with them she wasn't walking) and Scott being a bit silly.

One of our highlights for October was enjoying the Thanksgiving long weekend.  It was nice to spending some extra time with Nyah and Daddy.  It also marked Nyah's first year being in Canada, as we came home with her on October 8, 2004.  Along with just being together we also went Pumpkin picking at Storms Farm.  It was so much fun.  Nyah of course had to pull the wagon all by herself, she is very independent that way.   She really enjoyed seeing the sea of orange pumpkins.  We each got a chance to pick one to take home - as Nyah put it a Daddy, Mommy and Nyah pumpkins.  They were also selling pop corn, which is a favourite of Nyah's, so that was are really nice treat for all. We ended the weekend with Thanksgiving dinner at Scott and Darlene's.  Thanks you guys for inviting us, we had a great time. 

The following weekend we went to dinner at Melissa and Sam's.  We decided we were going to take a dessert for dinner.  I thought it would be more fun for Nyah and I to make a cake.  Nyah had a wonderful time helping me decorate it with sprinkles, Nerds, Sweet Tarts and Sour cherry's.  The kids loved the cake and also enjoyed working their sugar off by wrestling with Marc.  They all had a great time.  Nyah finished the weekend by having a conversation on the phone with Taunt Kristan.  She is so cute standing there chatting on the phone.

Nyah really enjoyed her last week of the month at Marsha because the theme was Halloween overloaded (unlike the rest of the monthly Halloween and Thanksgiving festivities).  They had color days, pumpkin painting, face painting, Nyah's birthday party and the Halloween day was costume day.  Nyah also was a big hit with all the next Halloween accessories that she took in, like the Witch jewelry, pumpkin flashlight, all presents from Taunt Ingrid.

Getting to the end of the month, at home we carved our pumpkins, played with the race car, made cookies and played with each other.   We also celebrated Nyah's 2nd Birthday with a little party.  You can check out the pictures on Nyah's 2nd Birthday. 

Then it was finally Halloween night...  Nyah really enjoyed our night.  She dressed up as a Unicorn and Mommy took her out to get some candy.  We went to a few neighboring houses.  Nyah really enjoyed holding her bag out for more candy and ringing the door bells saying Trick or Treat in her cute little voice.  Everyone thought she was cute but so young...  After we got home, Nyah and Daddy sat outside to give the candy. Nyah would go through the basket very thoroughly to choose what collection of goodies she wanted to give to the kids.  It was so cute.  Nyah then came inside ate lots of candy and luckily for us she had a big sugar crash and was out to sleep in no time.
