Our next weekend, featured a trip to Toronto.  We went to enjoy the first Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival.  It was an amazing must see event.  I hope they make it an annual event.  We all really enjoyed the many displays.  It was really amazing to see all the details and intricacies that was done in making the details.  My favorite was a dragon along the water front that was made of ceramics - plates, cups, saucers, spoons, etc.   Unfortunately we decided to go at the last minute because the weather ended up being a wonderful evening, so we didn't have our digital camera, just a disposable one we bought.  The next day Nyah and Marc took their new sports car for a ride around the drive way...  As you can see they had a fast and fun time. 

We then had a visit with Meagan and Samantha.  The girls had so much fun playing together and making funny faces.
Yeah...  Alyssa and Kaylee are here.  Nyah was very excited about having her younger cousins come visit.  After arriving at the apple picking farm too late (boohoo it was already closed), we decided to took in a fun trip to the park with all the girls.  It was a warm fall day for friends at the park sharing a swing.  After we returned home, the girls made some fun apple art.  As you can see they also made some fun Nyah/Alyssa art.  After that they had to take a dip in the bath to clean up.  They had a fun time playing and splashing in the water.  It was a first for them both to be in the bath together.

We had a great month with lots of visits with friends, a trip to Toronto, outings at the park, our 2nd Annual Gotcha Day and a fun birthday party.

We started the month with a long weekend.  I was off on Friday, so Nyah and I had a great day.  We made lots of cookies and as you can see from the pictures Nyah had lots of fun mixing the dough and tasting it too.  She always wants to taste the patter of anything we make.  It is really funny...  That same weekend, we also had Heather, Harry, Leo and Pierce over for dinner and some play time.   The kids had a great time.  Pierce actually surprised my by walking across the floor, he is only 10 months.  It was really cute, he just looks too small to walk. 

We then spent the weekend just hanging out and relaxing together.  The weather was pretty damp and wet, so we did inside activities together.

We have a little update on our next adoption.  Our file has been officially logged at China Centre of Adoption Affair on September 4.  Now the very long wait has begun.  We will keep you all updated as more time has passed and when anything happens.  I am sure Nyah will keep us busy as we wait.

As the month comes to an end, we were delighted to attend a fun birthday party!  My friend Leah from work was having a birthday party for her son Nolan's 2nd birthday.  It was lots of fun.  She had it held at a place called The Monkey's Jungle.  It is an indoor play and party place with lots of cool areas to play and experience.  Nyah had a fun time on the rollercoaster, the ball pit and the play house among many more.  Happy Birthday Nolan!

"Gotcha Day" #2

September 27, 2006

September always marks a wonderful time in our lives, the date we first held Nyah in our arms.  Even though we had seen her face and held her in our hearts much earlier, September 27 was that special date that we got to hold and smell and be close to her.  This year we celebrate two wonderful amazing years together.  Two years of tremendous changes, curious wonderment and fun silly laughs.  Nyah has been just a joy and treasure to us both and all our families.  We sometimes watch her sleep in awe at how lucky and blessed we are to have this great little girl in our lives.  This year I was actually away on a business overnight meeting, so we didn't get to spend that day together, but on Friday, Sept 29 Nyah and I took a day for just us.  We had fun in the morning playing with her dolls, doing crafts and reading books.  Then we went to Burlington to have lunch with Daddy and visit at his office.  It was a great day.  This we made a mold print of Nyah's hand to mark Gotcha Day#2.

 

The following weekend started off with receiving a surprise package from Mich and Pere, they sent me a huge supply of hazel-type of nuts from New Brunswick.  It was great.  Marc was not as keen, he doesn't like my nut eating. 

We then headed to Beamsville to visit with Nichole, Doug, Aidan and Ellie.  It was a fun time for all of us.  Nyah and Ellie had a great time playing with each other and sharing Ellie's toys.  It was really nice to see how great they played together.  As you can see from the pictures they had many laughs.  It is also really wonderful to see all the amazing changes in the girls over these two years.  To see how big they have gotten, to see how much they have learned and to see how happy they are and we are...

The next day, Marc and Nyah had lots of fun skateboarding and then a trip to one of Nyah's new favorite parks, the Dragon Fly park.

 

 

Memere and Pepere have gotten more picture from their wedding.  We are very happy that they sent us all the great shoots so we can share them with you too.  This day was a very happy and special occasion for us all involved.  Congrats again, Guy and Claudette!!! 
As I finish up the September 06 Fun page, I would like to share some pictures of some of Nyah's Forever Sisters.  These some of the beautiful girls that Nyah shared the first months of her life with in the Yuanling Social Welfare Institute.  We met these wonderful girls on that amazing day two years ago.  I hope you all enjoy these pictures as much as we do.
