September 2005 was a month with many new memories and many old ones. This month is a very special one because it represents a full year that Nyah has been in our life, in our arms and in our hearts.  Even though we got to see her little face at the end of July04, September 27, 2004 was our "Gotcha Day".  This month we celebrated that anniversary.  We also enjoyed our month by taking in some of the beautiful September weather.  It was a warm, sunny month.

As wonderful as September was, it was also very sad because Mommy has returned to work.  It has only been a couple of weeks but it seems to be going well.  Nyah is really enjoying it at the setters but I think she misses me too.  I know I miss her.  We spent our last day together, by taking a trip to the Waterloo park petty zoo.  It was raining and gray, but we still had a blast feeding the rabbits, birds and ducks.

Nyah has become a big fan of apples and pop corn lately.  She still doesn't say a lot, so it is very hard to say no when she ask for pop corn.  She starts jumping up and down saying pop, pop, pop...  How can we deny that request...  Also as you can see from the big apple bite, she is enjoying the taste and crunch of apples.

Nyah has also started a new activity that is one of her favorite things to do...  I call it water play.  Each day and night, mostly while I am preparing dinner, she is playing with the kitchen sink.  Putting water in cups and back in the sink, running her hands under the tap, etc this will keep her occupied for at least 20 minutes.  Which for Nyah is a long time...  She has even helped clean up her mess a few times.

Daddy and Nyah have been spending a bit of time each weekend, washing Daddy's car and riding Nyah's supped up four-wheeler.  With Marc as a Daddy it is bound to happen, life always holds surprises that are modified.

Before we celebrated our "Gotcha Day", we had an early celebration with our friends & "family", Nicole, Doug, Aidan and Ellie.  Ellie was adopted from the Yuanling SWI at the same time as Nyah.  Ellie was one of her "sisters" in the orphanage.

We had a wonderful visit.  It was nice to see the kids enjoy a day of fun with each other.  They played with play dough, riding bikes and a trip to an apple orchard.  We had a wonderful time picking apples, walking in the fields and feeding the goats.

It was also great to see the changes in the girls.  And to see the changes that we have made in their little lives over the past year. They are both very different, but yet very much the same.  We have all been very much blessed.

"Gotcha Day" #1

September 27, 2005

What a wonderful day.  Even though we only had a few hours together on this special day, we tried to make the best of it.  We had a great dinner, went for a nice walk and played with Nyah's toys.  We also marked the occasion with making a mold imprint of Nyah's feet and hands.  It will be a nice keepsake in years to come.
